Look, I'm not gonna tell you that arnica is the coolest of the plants in Motherline products. But I'm also not gonna not tell you arnica is the coolest of the plants in Motherline products because, well, let's just list a couple of arnica's nicknames:

  • wolf's bane
  • leopard's bane
  • mountain arnica
Seriously, put any of those words in front of anything else and they immediately get 70% cooler. Wolf Catherine?!? Leopard Catherine?!? Even Mountain Catherine is, like, 30% cooler than just plain Catherine.

But let's get down to what it does for your skin and why—beyond its nicknames—we love it at Motherline.

Arnica is this beautiful yellow-orange flower that comes from the sunflower family. It grows mainly in the mountains of Europe and—how cool is this—Siberia.

Wait. Just one more naming thing before we move on. In French, arnica is literally translated as “herb for falls" which refers to its centuries-old use (really! it's been used since the 1500's!) to treat pain related to impact (bruise or bump from, you know, falling) or muscle fatigue like cramps or aches.

But it's not just for 16th century French people or Siberians. It's still used today in 2023 (in Motherline) for all the same reasons: its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antibacterial and antiseptic properties are great for soothing (muscle aches, acne), reducing inflammation (acne), and healing wounds (bruises, cuts).

Great, all-natural skincare is timeless, right?
